Now living in: Ballinamallard, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland Height: 1 m 67.5 cm/5 ft 6 in Weight: 59.5 kg/131 lb Rookies Cup record 2007: Qualified for the 2008 Cup through the initial Selection Event at the Sachsenring then the Paul Ricard Final. Motorcycle experience: 2003 Started Minimoto racing at ‘North West 200’ event. (4th in first race) Polini Won first race in September ‘03’ at ‘East Strand, Portrush. Polini 2004 3rd in two separate Irish championships in first full year of Mini Moto racing, Winning a number of races. - Polini 2005 1st Irish National Junior 4.2 Cadets Championship – Polini 1st Irish National Junior Production Championship (Won 68 out of 78 starts between the two classes) 1st In a round of Scottish Mini Moto Championships 1st in one class 2nd in another at Spanish pre season race week tests, Benidorm. 2006 1st Irish National Junior4.2 Cadets Championship – Polini Ireland 1st Irish National Junior Production Championship. 2007 1st & a 2nd in first big bike meeting, NDM Aprilia125 Irish Clubman Championship. 1st in 4 out of 6 races in the Aprilia class (3 meetings, 2 poles, 5 fastest laps) Irishbikeracing.com, newcomer of the year award. Few have started earlier than Josh who's first machine was a Suzuki 50cc quad at the age of 2 years 7months. At 3 years 6 months Josh got a Yamaha PW50 was on two wheels and aiming to follow his father Julian, himself a road racer. Fellow Irishman Jeremy McWilliams has been of great help and inspiration to Josh and indeed Josh rides with Jeremy’s old race number, #99. His nickname 'Jossi' is a nod to Valentino and he enjoys rugby, soccer and water skiing. |
