Thruxton
21st Apr 08
To be honest I thought it was a waste of time going to Thruxton as the weather was going to be wet wet wet - believe it or not I actually got sun burnt on race day so the effort and journey was worth it in the end.
Big news from Thruxton was the 125GP race winner Paul Jordon who hails from Magherafelt - What a dream result so well done Paul. - Another double race winner was John Laverty in the British Superbike Championship Cup and it was nice to see John celebrate on the podium who is the somewhat forgotten hero from the Laverty family.
Road Racer Cameron Donald also got a podium finish in the Superskock class and this was no mean achievement for the Melbourne racer who is putting in some mileage in time for the North West 200.
Marty Nutt was on fire gaining a podium in the Hendersons Yamaha R1 Cup and also 7th in the very competitive Supersport class.
Jamie Hamilton from Ballyclare also got a podium in the Junior Superskock class.
Top finishes where also gained by Michael Laverty 5th 2nd Superbike race and Ian Lowry 5th Supersport race.
Marshall Neill got a good 4th place in the Superskocks and overall the Irish riders did themselves proud.
Michael Rutter riding for the Kennedy North West 200 team amazed everyone with 2 podium finishes in the Superbike races.
Michael was that over joyed he tossed his helmet into the crowd of race fans.
