Martin Finnegan lost his life today in the supersport race and sympathy is expressed to his family circle.
Martin had a huge fan club and over the years he was the darling of the road circuits with his dashing skill and fun loving approach to the sport.
I spoke to Martin this morning and he advised me to go to cooley hill
- this I did but to be honest I just got scared so I dashed back to to the start grid to meet Martin and had a laugh about the jumps.
I will miss Martin and so will thousands more and I guess we really cannot believe he is gone - gavan caldwell
